What do you get when you cross 100,000 toothpicks, 35 years, some unique imagination and some balls?
My very good friend Pete (who actually may be one of the four people who reads this and knows each of the other three readers very well too) gave this engrossing presentation recently on the work he’s been doing for WhereYouGonnaBe. It’s a great example of someone at the forefront of their industry explaining some tremendously complex and large problems clearly and for everyone to...

Present, sir!
Sometimes I feel that castration and the police state really are the only way forward…
Jurassic Park for real at last? And so polite?
Oh. Right. Still, as a kid I’d run off like a brown slug…
ASSRABBITS!
After a bit of a break, Braxton is back, this time with Jesus.
Catch me in my music video debut as a hobo almost getting run over, but stick around to the end for some serious Saviour Rap.

Silly British Government, keeping amateurs in top positions. It seems that if you are successful at running a business, looking good on TV, or putting a suit on the right way around, you are given a top position and then forced to make rushed decisions that you have to back down from. Silly billies.
On the radio today they ridiculed perhaps the most obvious issue: If you wait until trial to prove...
Disqus. Discus.
Since Haloscan don’t seem to be able/willing to help me keep my comments working *and* keep my existing comments (even though technically it was a change made quietly by Tumblr that caused the disconnect), I’m going to try out Disqus.
Disqus is what the team atĀ Mobogic uses. Many other places use it too of course, but that’s how I found them. They seem to work well, and they at...
Drink weed. Spray on blow.
I was surprised to find this note from a case of wine we’d ordered a few months ago (we were introduced to the wine by our favourite East Village Italian restaurant, In Vino):
The Grechetto grape variety is at home in the region of Umbria, nestled right in the middle of Italy. This is an earthy white wine with aromas of raw honey, cannabis, and sage. It’s dry on the palate, but rich in...
Dogs, their owners, and arse.
Everyone knows that dog owners are supposed to look like their dogs, so I began to consider a while back just why or how this should be.
The superficially obvious answer is that they need some sort of reflection of themselves to comfort them, particularly those living lonely lives (this doesn’t necessarily mean they live alone of course).
But a dog is a dog and, unless I’m being...
Comments. Haloscan. Yer wot? Ah, Tumblr broked it.
Tumblr did something that made Haloscan break. Really? Really. Honestly. So, as you can see, for some time now it looks like no-one’s been commenting. Hidden away were many comments though, but in the interest of making future comments work properly, I’ve changed things that sadly means the old ones are inaccessible.
I’m trying to persuade the Haloscan folks to help me fix it...
Still the little man has no control
US mortgage firms’ shares slumpĀ and I wonder if I should be concerned or care. I need to figure that out. I don’t know.
What strikes me is that whereas car pushers manufacturers (GM), cell-phone cartels providers (Rogers Canada), computer oligarchs manufacturers (Microsoft), domestic hustlers airlines (American/United), international rip-off merchants airlines (BA & Virgin),...
In the last 24 hours I’ve been reminded of a couple of fantastic bits of comedy which have stuck with me for years and years for their subtle genius and absurdity. I haven’t quite figured out what it is about them but even though I know how it’s going to pan out, they still make me laugh.
There’s not a second of dialogue in either of the two videos. Maybe a grunt which...

Perhaps you can help me out, folks. Please let me know in the comments just what some of these sticking points mean. I’m totally lost with this article and I want to understand two things. Firstly, what does it mean? I mean, not in general, but specifically. Secondly, why haven’t any of the commenters found it as puzzling as I have? “You’re stupid, Nick, that’s...
Brilliant video art →
Brilliant bits of video art. I don’t normally give a crap for video art - too often it requires more engagement from the viewer than’s actually justified. With a picture you can tell fairly quickly if you like it or not, but video art so often indulges itself without really rewarding the viewer. You feel you want to wait until something interesting happens and yet so often...
