Nixta Rolls

Brilliant bits of video art. I don’t normally give a crap for video art - too often it requires more engagement from the viewer than’s actually justified. With a picture you can tell fairly quickly if you like it or not, but video art so often indulges itself without really rewarding the viewer. You feel you want to wait until something interesting happens and yet so often you’re let down. I suppose the medium might be to blame since it’s the lack of anything happening that builds up the expectation of reward that too often doesn’t come.

Maybe I’m just in the right mood, but these ones make me laugh and engage me. The Vital Capacity, the Duel, the pythonesque William Tell. No so sure about the banana, but only because I don’t like brown bananas…
