Rolling is so much less dangerous than tumbling |
I’ve worked for a few companies which have made bad or delayed decisions on infrastructure, confusing business and employees, and sometimes even to the detriment of the whole firm. Atos Origin, for example, introduced Windows Mobile phones which were horrific to use. Not such a problem, you’d think, but they rolled out thousands of them in the space of two weeks. The phones stalled, were slow, and occasionally entirely crashed. The WinMo edition installed also has some retarded UI elements. But then, after two months, we were told to disable e-mail push because the company had entered into a contract with Orange which didn’t seem to include enough data! Oh, my sides.
I’ve also worked with Lotus Notes. I’ve also had to help DMC work with Lotus Notes through her erstwhile employer. And so I fully, gladly and enthusiastically endorse Aaron’s company’s informal rule. Would you really want to work for an IT company that can’t put together a decent infrastructure for itself?
